On the 1850 U.S. Federal Mortality Census, the sudden death of 14 year old Jackson Chandler is entered in September 1850. There were no other Chandler families in Madison County, Alabama at that time, and the William Robert Chandler family was not listed on the 1850 census until December 7, 1850. That would have been three months after the death of Jackson Chandler. It is very probable that this was the son counted on the 1840 census whose name was lost to family history since no known family Bible exists.
Paternal grandparents were Josiah Chandler and Mary Polly Roberts. Maternal grandparents were John Moon and Mary Lewis.
