Harriet C. Chandler Patterson was one of the younger daughters of William Robert and Eliza Moon Chandler. By the time she was born in 1848, there were 5 known siblings in the home, and two more children were born after Harriet.

On 9 May 1872, Harriet married Edward F. Patterson, son of John and Lydia Maples Patterson. The date of death is not known for Harriet but family history is that she died in 1874. No month known.

Her widower, Edward F. Patterson, married Elizabeth Charlotte Moon on 22 Nov 1874. She was the daughter of William H. and Almira Chandler Moon and thus, was the niece of Harriet Chandler Patterson. Almira was an older sister of Harriet.

The marriage of Edward F. and Eliza Charlotte Moon Patterson produced nine children, and many of the Pattersons in the Owens Cross Roads area of Madison County, Alabama area are their descendants. Edward F. Patterson died 8 Mar 1912 and was buried at Chandler Cemetery. Elizabeth Patterson died 13 Oct 1924 and was also buried at Chandler Cemetery.

Paternal grandparents were Josiah Chandler and Mary Polly Roberts Chandler. Maternal grandparents were John Moon and Mary Lewis.
