Sampson (Sam) Adkins. Born February 1, 1883, to the late Sampson Adkins and Eliza Mintun Adkins. He was their thirteenth child. He passed away suddenly on November 14, 1967. He married Teresa Mary Glennon on February 1, 1912. They had one daughter, Helen Elizabeth (Robert) Samuels. Sam was a retired accountant and had worked at Marshall Fields and retired from Murphy's Restaurant/Commissary in Chicago. After retiring, Sam and Tess moved to California to be closer to their daughter and her family. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and keeping up with the business world. He was the proud grandfather of Robert (Claire) Samuels, Marjorie Samuels, and the proud great-grandfather of Michele. Private services were held with burial at sea.
