Mrs. Jones was born October 10, 1872 in Pickaway County, Ohio, d/o Sampson and Eliza Mintun Adkins. She was one of 13 children. She came to Piatt County in 1885 and lived on the Hale farm. She was united in marriage on February 24, 1892 to Charles Jones; they had six children: twins, Walter (died while young) and Willard, Hudson MI; Mrs. Pearl Drumm, Mishawaka IN; Kenneth, South Bend IN; and Harry of Richland WA. Besides her children she leaves two brothers: Reuben Adkins, Bement; Sampson Adkins, Chicago; and three sisters: Mrs. Nan Anderson, Champaign; Clara Adkins, Monticello; and Joyce Armsworth, Decatur.
