Helen Elizabeth Adkins Samuels Passed away quietly on August 1, 2004, with her husband of 68 years by her side. Robert P Samuels and Helen were married in Chicago. She worked at Swift and Company until she married and moved to Dallas, Texas. A former resident of Dallas, Texas, Walnut Creek, and San Francisco, California. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Teresa Adkins of Chicago(Beverly) and Walnut Creek, California. She is survived by her son Robert, her daughter Marjorie Yost, daughter-in-law Claire, three grandchildren, Michele Haynes, Jeffrey Samuels, and Nicole Schapiro, and six great-grandchildren. Her son-in-law, John Yost, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Walnut Creek Women's Club, Walnut Creek Bridge Club, a volunteer at the Walnut Festival, and a volunteer at Letterman U.S. Army Hospital in San Francisco until it closed. She was an avid reader and bridge player. Private services were held with her ashes being spread in the San Francisco Bay
