LAIRD W. "PETE" HICKS, 61. of 3040 Carib Way. Lantana, Fla., formerly of Indiana, died Sunday. May 3. 1987, at the John F Kennedy Hospital, Atlantis. Fla.
A son of Lawrence and Vesta Craig Hicks, he was born Dec. 28. 1925, in Indiana.
Mr. Hicks was a member of the FOE Aerie 14BB, Indiana, and had served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Prior to moving to Florida in 1979, he had been a lifetime resident of Indiana and was a retired employee of Season-all Industries. Indiana.
Surviving are his wife, Anna J. Baker Hicks: two sons: James L., Sanford. Fla. and Leonard. Albuquerque. N.M., two daughters, Susan Jane Hitter. Sunrise, Fla.. and Karen Kay Slepp. Williamsport Ohio; five grandchildren; a brother, William Bayne Hicks. Indiana: two sisters: Erma Romasco, Royal Palms. Fla., and lone Norton. Melrise, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers. Mervin and Leon, a sister, Velma Saba.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday prior to services to be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Frank T. Mihalcik Funeral Home. Indiana. Rev. Sandra M. Baker will officiate and interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
