MR. LAWARENCE J. HICKS, of Mt View Christian Home, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1973, at Indiana Hospital.
A son of Washington and Margaret Isabell Robinson Hicks, he was born July 5,1883 at Trade City, Pa.
Mr. Hicks was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Indiana.
He was the first President of the Indiana Historical Genealogical Society in 1938-39 and a life member of the Indiana Eagles.
Surviving are three sons: Laird W. Hicks of Circle Hill, Ohio;, William B., of Indiana; Lloyd W., of Pittsburgh; three daughters: Mrs. Lona Morton of Melrose, Mass.; Mrs. Velma Saba, Philadelphia; and Mrs. Erma Romasco, Cleveland, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, Sister Vada Fetterhoff of Plumville, and Lillian Gould, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Florence Craid [Craig] Hicks in 1960 and two sons, Mervin and Leon Hicks.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday at the Bell Funeral Home, where services will be held 3:30 Friday, Nov. 30, with the Rev. Donald Billman, officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
