She was a homemaker and a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 773, the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Fort Myers, Fla., the Cascade Club and the Sportsmen's Athletic Club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hicks (d 8/2/1998 age 48 in Connecticut)[AKA Gerald Eugene Dunegan]; and a brother, Eugene Malburg.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, William F. Fitzgerald; two daughters, Colleen Goldner and her husband, Andrew, of Erie, and Kathy Palmer and her husband, Cai, of Ridgefield, Conn.; a son, Sean Dunegan of Connecticut; three sisters, Louise Morgan and her husband, William, and Donna Malburg, all of Indiana, Pa., and Dorothy Smith and her husband, Wilbert, of Chambersburg; two stepchildren, Patsy Dunnabeck and her husband, Thomas, of Erie, and Michael Fitzgerald and his wife, Kathy, of Erie; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
