Mr. A. A. Cox, 321 Lincoln Ave., Campbellsville, died at his home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19. He was 62. Born April 20, 1910, Mr. Cox was the son of Nora Hugh and Ray Cox, both living of Acton. He was married February 27, 1928, to Virgie Mae Cox, deceased. He was a member of the St. Andrews Methodist Church. Besides his father and mother, he is survived by 6 sons, Sammy Lee, Leslie E., Donald Lee, Jerry Nelson and George Cox, all of Campbellsville and John H. Cox, Tampa, Florida; 4 daughters, Mrs. Shelby Druien, Mrs. John Russell McVay, Mrs. Robert Don Cox, all of Campbellsville, and Mrs. Maurice Beard, Cleveland, Ohio. Two children, Louis and Billy Ray, precede him in death. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Roy, Ed, and Andy Cox, all of Campbellsville, Howard Cox, Mannsville, and Coy Cox, Louisville; 3 sisters, Mrs. Leonard Wilson, Campbellsville, Mrs. Dewey Herron and Mrs. Willard Brown, Acton; 26 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Andrews Methodist Church Thursday, September 21, at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. Ken Vance with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Hack Simpson, Kenneth Harden, Richard Pike, Moton Dudgeon, Hollis Rodgers and Ollie Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers: Donald Price, Jimmie Cox, Homer Kirtley, Frankie Johns, Kenneth Harrison, Charles Wilson, Willard Caulk, and Frank Gumm.
