Samuel Lee Cox, age 47, died Saturday, November 25, 1978 of injuries received in an automobile accident near Phoenix, Arizona. He was a native of Taylor County born here January 15, 1931, the son of the late A.A. and Virgie May Cox. Mr. Cox was a resident of Campbellsville and retired from the U.S. Navy. Survivors include three sons: Ricky Cox of Maryville, Washington, James and Joel Cox of Leemore, California, and two daughters: Sherill and Carla Cox, both of Leemore, Calif., and two grandchildren. Also surviving are firve brothers: Leslie and John Cox of Tampa, Fla., Donald Cox, Jerry N. Cox, and George Cox, all of Campbellsville, and four sisters: Mrs. Faye Beard of Burnswick, Ohio, Mrs. Ora Mae Druin, Mrs. Helen McVay and Mrs. Margaret Cox, all of Campbellsville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, at the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Perdue officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
