NEW CARLISLE - Bernice M. Gondek, 95, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at Hospice House in South Bend, Indiana.
Bernice was born June 2, 1916, in New Carlisle, Indiana, to Enoch and Agnes (Rybacki) Wrobleski. She retired in 1995 at the age of 79 from St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church as a cook after 32 years of service.
On September 4, 1937, Bernice married Stanley Gondek, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1999. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (David) Jasinski of North Liberty, Indiana; a son, James (Joan) Gondek of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Mark (Tammy) Jasinski of North Liberty, Indiana, Lori Jasinski of South Bend, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Scott & Kiley Jasinski of North Liberty, Indiana; sisters, Dorothy Wolkiewicz of South Bend, Indiana, Henrietta Grauel of South Bend, Indiana; and a brother, Clem (Irene) Wrobleski of New Carlisle, Indiana.
Bernice loved her grand and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers and loved to read. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society, and the St. Anthony Club.
