Harry was the youngest son of General John Curtis Caldwell who led the Maine National Guard into the start of the Civil War. When the General died in 1912, Harry inherited his father's Civil War sword. As stated in his will dated May 1928, the sword was donated to the Kansas State Historical Society. He had no children, a gold watch was left to his nephew, Harry Murchie of Jacksonville, FL. The remainder of his estate was left to his sister Harriet Caldwell Murchie of Calias, Maine.

He was married to Frances Helen Matte on 12 Aug 1903 in El Paso, TX. She later died 23 February 1905 and was buried in Kansas City.

July 1911 - Harry applied for a visa at the American Embassy in Mexico while working as a Commercial Agent for the MK&T Railroad (Missouri, Kansas, and Texas). His status was listed as widower.

In the 1920 US Census, Harry was a resident of Orcutt, CA and employed as an electrician with the Associated Oil Company and listed as a widower. During his years in California, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and Past-Grand Master of the Knights Templar.

In an older part of the cemetery. Make immediate right after entry and watch for Section D signs by the curb. Cemetery confirmed it is a casket burial site, not for urns or ashes.
