Roger Zufelt

SALINA - Roger Zufelt died November 26, 1998 in Salina, Utah, at the age of 69. He was born June 16, 1929 in Vermillion, Utah, to Richard Valentine and Sarah Elizabeth Robinson Zufelt.

Roger will always be remembered for his sweet disposition and smile. He was a great help to his mother and father in their latter years. He was very proud of his brothers who were jockeys, and supported them in their racing and his father’s training of horses. He was the custodian of Salina Elementary School for 18 years, before his retirement.

He was a member of the LDS Church, a carpenter and an artist. He helped many people and was a friend to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving sisters. Nelda (Marlin) Sorensen of Salina, Marjorie (Walt) Chelonis of Scottsdale, Arizona. Mary (Brooks) Collings of Poulsbo, Washington. Peggy Lou (Wall) Susanj of Renton, Washington. Madge (Milo) Knight of St. George, Utah: brothers. Don Zufelt of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary (Joyce) Zufelt of Carmichael, California, Douglas Zufelt of Palo Alto, California; many nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Roger. Those preceding him in death are his parents and brothers, DeVaun, Ferril, Grant, R.B., and Ralph.

Graveside services were held December 4, 1998 under the direction of the Springer/Turner Funeral Home.
