Fourth daughter of Col. Rufus Easton, whom Thomas Jefferson appointed the first Postmaster and first Federal Judge of then 'Upper Louisiana Territory' in 1805. He was later elected a U.S. Congressman. His daughters were the belles of the town and courted by the most eligible young bachelors. She married Thomas L. Anderson and they had 4 sons; two lived to adulthood. Per a diary entry of her brother-in-law, George Sibley,(co-founder of Lindenwood), "Mrs. Anderson died of Pulmonary Consumption (TB) at 3 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1840, a very cold day. She left 3 little sons and her husband to mourn her death."
