Rosella "Rosalie" (Perry) Farmer is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Greenfield, Massachusetts according to Vital documents from the Town of Conway, Massachusetts.

Died - In Conway, Oct. 1, Rosalie, wife of Dennis Farmer, aged 37. [1]

Conway - The funeral services of Mrs. Dennis Farmer, who died on Sunday, the 1st, were attended on Tuesday and the remains taken to Greenfield for interment. Mrs. Farmer was much respected by all who knew her, and much sympathy is felt for those motherless little ones in their sad bereavement. [2]

Mrs. Farmer was called "Rosalie", but her name was Rosella. [3]

She was 37 years, 10 months, and 10 days old when she died.

On February 20, 2016, the Blessed Sacrament Church of Greenfield, Massachusetts added Rosella (Perry) "Rosalie" Farmer to the interment listing for Calvary Cemetery. Rosella's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Charles W. Farmer are interred there; also her grandson, Raymond A. Farmer.

Documentation supporting Rosella's interment at Calvary Cemetery was requested by, and provided to the church. Blessed Sacrament Church believes that Rosella (Perry) Farmer was buried at Calvary Cemetery in October of 1882, and due to the passing of time, records lost, and to some extent, the cemetery being maintained by one church and then another, the exact location within Calvary Cemetery is now unknown. Previously, Rosalie's interment location had been undiscovered.

There is conflicting information on vital records surrounding Rosella's birthplace. The Town of Conway vital record "Register of Deaths in Conway, Franklin County for 1882", lists Ferrisburg, Vermont as her place of birth. The 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 U.S. Censuses, and, the vital document "Births Registered in the Town of Conway 1879" which documents the birth of George E. Farmer, have listed Rosalie's place of birth as Canada.[4]

A sister to Rosalie, Minerva Ada (Perry) Goodner.

The surname Perry, was previously Pare', but over time was changed to Perry, and has even been seen on some records as Parry. Additionally, Rosella "Rosalie" (Perry) Farmer has been listed on U.S. Censuses and subsequent genealogy websites as Rozilla, Rozella, Razilla, Rosilla, etc., perhaps due to the enumerator's belief that he/she was spelling the name correctly, and these mis-spellings were carried forward.

The Perry Family Cenotaph:

This Cenotaph, which is located at the Arms Cemetery, in Shelburne, Mass., has much information carved into it to memorialize the births and deaths within this family. (A Cenotaph is an empty tomb or a monument erected in honor of a person or group of people whose remains are elsewhere. It can also be the initial tomb for a person who has since been re-interred elsewhere.) As Mrs. Farmers' final interment location was seemingly unknown for many years, some still believe that Rosella "Rosalie" (Perry) Farmer's body is interred at the Perry Cenotaph at the Arms Cemetery, in Shelburne, or, that we may never know where Rosella is interred, but the vital documents attached to her memorial here indicate otherwise.

As a kindness to the contributor who now manages the Perry family cenotaph's memorial, I am providing the link to The Perry Family Cenotaph, although quite a bit of the information on the Perry Cenotaph's memorial page is not accurate, ex. George Edward Farmer: his middle name, the town in which he died, the name of his first wife and the town in which she died, the last name of Dennis Farmer's second wife, etc.
