Stricken with a heart attack while attending a picnic at Bernardston, William H. Farmer, 70, of 42 Beech street died suddenly yesterday afternoon. He had been apparent good health, had worked yesterday and was in good spirits until his sudden seizure.

Born at South Ashfield on Oct. 1, 1868, he was the son of Dennis and Rosella (Perry) "Rosalie" Farmer. He came to Greenfield from Westfield in 1915 and had lived here since, being employed at the Turners Falls Power and Electric company. He was a member of the Moose lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Greenfield.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Farmer; a son, William A. Farmer of Greenfield; four brothers, George of Turners Falls, Charles of Greenfield, Dennis of Detroit and Frank of Nevada City, Ca.; a half-brother, Alfred Farmer of Greenfield; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Young of Conway and Mrs. Emma Williams of Dalton, and a grandson, Robert Farmer of Greenfield.

Funeral Services will be held at his home, Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. George K. Carter of the First Congregational church will officiate. Burial will be in Green River cemetery.
