Dr Joseph C Perry Dies on Train - Active Church and Club Leader
Shelburne Falls, April 27 - While returning from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he had spent the winter, Dr Joseph Charles Perry of Shelburne Falls died on the train Tuesday night; born in Ferrisburg, Vt had spent almost his entire life in Shelburne Falls where he maintained a dental office for nearly 45 years; was head of the local orders of Masons, Odd Fellows, Encampment and Eastern Star and was member of Franklin Royal Arch chapter, Titus Strong Council, and Ct Valley commandery; served as president of Shelburne Falls club, the lecture course and the local Chautuaqua; at the time of his death was chairman of the board of trustees of the Congregational church and president of the board of trustees of Arms Academy; served for a time on the school committee and was member of the legislature 1915 and 1916 representing the Franklin district in the House of Representatives; was a kindly sympathetic man who will be missed in the many walks of life and by hosts of friends; he married Merriam H Packard who died Dec. 10, 1925; survived by two sons Luther Packard Perry of Reading, Pa. and Joseph Earl Perry of Belmont; funeral at Shelburne Congregational church
