Betty "Jean" Layne, 87, was born March 20, 1928 in Grace, Idaho to Nathan VanNoy and Pauline Pedersen VanNoy.

Jean passed away on February 8, 2016 just a week after her son Mike.

Jean was married to Brandt Russ Layne on March 6, 1945. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.

They spent time as a couple in Alameda California, where Brandt was in the Navy. After his honorable discharge they moved to Ogden, Utah where they raised their family.

She retired from JC Penney after many years of dedicated work; she made many friends and enjoyed her time there.

She loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings to the fullest.

Jean was a great mother, grandmother and loved her children unconditionally. She had many talents and enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles and loved sunsets. She was a hard worker and a great cook; she was an avid reader and she could sew anything.

Jean was always well dressed and loved her "Bling". We will never see a tube of Chapstick or lip gloss and not think of her. We love you Mom.

She is survived by Jeannie Layne, Ted (Janette), Terri (Kim) Muchmore and Jeff (Jacqueline); 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Jr., Bill and Spencer VanNoy; sister, Delaine; infant sister, Kathleen and her oldest son, Mike.
