Dad passed away June 16, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at Lomond Peak Care Center. The family is so grateful for their care and concern.
Dad was always proud of his farming heritage and learned hard work from that experience
He married his sweetheart Betty "Jean" Van Noy on March 6, 1945. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. They spent time in Alameda California when he joined the Navy and served in World War II. After his discharge they returned to Ogden were they raised their family.
Dad was a man of many talents. He was a successful contractor. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. He loved to golf. His garden was a perfect masterpiece. He loved to hunt and his sons will treasure these fond memories. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always kept us laughing and on our toes!
He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served as bishop in the Stake Presidency along with many other callings.
he is survived by his wife; children, Michael( Jeannie) Layne, Ted ( Janette) Layne, Jeff Layne and Terri (Kim) Muchmore; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rex.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Harrisville seventh Ward, 1650 N. 400 W., Harrisville, Utah. Friends and family may call at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Monday, June 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church prior to the service from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
