Mrs. Paulyn Petersen Van Noy, 80 died at the Preston Hospital Thursday evening following a brief illness. She was born January 10, 1884, in Denmark to Niels and Mette Katrina Petersen.
She was married to Nathan K. Van Noy in Salt Lake City on January 11, 1911. Mr. Van Noy died in 1940.
Mrs. Van Noy had been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving particularly in Primary and Relief Society.
Survivors include two sons, and two daughters, Spencer E., Salt Lake City, William T. Bountiful, Mrs. George (Pauline) Coombs, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Brandt (Betty Jean) Layne, Ogden. One son, Junior Van Noy was killed in World War II and had received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 6 brothers and sisters. Hyrum S. Petersen, Grace, Idaho; Oliver C., Benny, and Mrs. William (Martha) Casto Salt Lake City; Enoch Petersen, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Earl (Emma) Fenn, Gunnison, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Preston 8th ward chapel. Friends may call Webb Mortuary in Preston on Monday evening and Tuesday prior to rites. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.
