His obituary:

Hopewell Carter of Franklinville-Swedesboro-Little Mill Road died Monday. He was 59. Born in Cheswold, Del, Carter was a truck driver with Clayton Ready Mix for nine years and for Vineland Transit Mix for the past six years. He lived in Shirley before moving to this area 14 years ago.

Survivors* include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Mosely of Vineland; four sons, Leroy of Fairton, Perry of San Mateo, Calif., John of California, and Donald of Bridgeton; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Games of Dover, Del.; Mrs. Agnes Newlin of Philadelphia; Mrs. Catherine Cuff of Bridgeton and Mrs. Laura Pierce of Monroeville, and five** grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barclay Funeral Home, Clayton. Burial will be in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro.

*(Also survived by his first wife, Lethia H. Coker Carter).

**(He actually had seven grandchildren at the time of his passing).
