Katherine (nee Carter) Cuff -

Katherine Cuff, 90, of Bridgeton, passed away Saturday, October 9, 1999, at the Cumberland Manor, Bridgeton, NJ, where she resided since 1992.

Born in Leipsic, Delaware in 1909, she was the daughter of the late Hopewell and Sarah (nee Ridgeway) Carter.

She attended the local schools in Delaware. Afterwards she moved to Bridgeton, NJ, where she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Romaine Cuff.

She was a domestic employee for various local families in the Cumberland and Salem County areas.

Katherine loved her home and family. Her best days were spent in her garden, which she loved to manicure and keep in perfection, and her kitchen where she baked pies and served dinner. She was an immaculate housekeeper and she has been truly missed around the home for the last ten years due to her health. Katherine's satire and wonderful personality will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves to celebrate her homegoing one daughter, Barbara (nee Cuff) Coursey; one granddaughter Vickie (nee Coursey) Singletary; one great-grandson, Richard Brent Coursey; one grandson-in-law, Antonio Singletary; all of Bridgeton, New Jersey. Five nieces, Wanda L. Coursey, Bridgeton, NJ; Esther Gilbert, Camden, Delaware; Pauline Mercado, Woodside, NY; Katherine Thomas, West Cape May, New Jersey; Clara Valdera, Berwyn, PA; Evelyn Schroeder of Pittsgrove, New Jersey. One niece-in-law Syretha Carter of Gouldtown, New Jersey. One great-niece Sarah Marie Carter Pierce and one Godson Ralph Carter; one great-nephew Wayne A. Carter.

She was predeceased by three brothers, John Carter, Hopewell Carter and William Carter; three sisters, Mary Muntz, Alice Gaines and Agnes Newlin. One sister-in-law, Margaret Hursey, one son-in-law, Richard W. Coursey, one nephew Ralph U. Carter, Sr.
