Laura E. Pierce (nee Carter), 90, of the Monroeville section of Upper Pittsgrove Twp. died early Monday morning in the S.J.H.S. Newcomb division after being in failing health. Mrs. Pierce was born in Delaware and was a lifelong Monroeville resident. She was the daughter of the late Hopewell and Sarah Carter.

Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and had also worked at the Anchor Hocking Glass Factory in Salem. She was an avid flower gardener and a former member of the Chickory Chapel in Monroeville.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John B. Pierce, Monroeville, 2 daughters, Katherine Pierce, Vineland, Doris and her husband Donald Beckett, Fla., 6 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katherine Craft in 1999.

Funeral services will be conducted by her former Pastor the Rev. William Neff on Thursday at 11 AM in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 South Main Road, Vineland, NJ with burial to follow in the Manahath Cemetery, Glasboro. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroeville Vol. Fire Co. or to the Millville Rescue Squad, Millville, NJ.
