Obituary from the "Waushara Argus" of Wautoma, Wisconsin dated 20 Dec 1894:
Mrs. Mariah Stinemates Warren, d. Dec 8th
On Saturday December 8, 1894, Mrs. Mariah Stinemates Warren passed from her earthly to her heavenly home. Deceased had been a sufferer for many years and for nine years had been afflicted with blindness. On Wednesday, Dec. 5th she was taken sick with pneumonia and grew rapidly worse until death came to her relief on Saturday evening.
Deceased was born in West Moreland county, Pa., and when a child moved to Ohio with her parents. In 1844 she was married to Thos. T. Warren. Four children blessed this union, three daughters and one son. The son died at the age of 19, but the daughters, Mrs. M. C. Wilson, Mrs. R. Barrington and Mrs. W. D. Hazen, are still living. From Ohio they moved to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Dayton, Waupaca County. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the Crystal Lake Cemetery. Her husband died in August 1862. He served under Captain Saxe in the 16th Wis. and took part in the battle of Shiloh. The funeral of Mrs. Warren was largely attended by her old neighbors and friends who deeply mourn her taking away. The services were conducted by Rev. Hayward assisted by Rev. Griswold.
To our many friends we extend our sincere thanks for their kindness and deep sympathy shown to us in our deep affliction. Mrs. R. Barrington.
