Two obituaries of Anna Mariah Warren:
(1) Mrs. W. D. Hazen
Anna Mariah Warren, daughter of Thomas Warren and Mariah Steinmetz, was born Dec. 14, 1854 in Dayton township, Knox County, Ohio. When a baby her parents migrated to Wisconsin by ox team and the covered wagon, settled in Dayton Township, Waupaca county, with the rest of the pioneers endured many hardships, and saw the country grow from a wilderness to what it is at the present time.
August 1st she had just returned from her daughter's Highland Park, Ill. home to her daughter's in Fremont and on Aug. 14 had a stroke from which she never regained consciousness. She was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital at Appleton where she died Dec. 8.
On July 4, 1869, she was married to Wellington Stratton of Dayton, Waupaca county. To this union a daughter, Edith (Mrs. John Button of Fremont) was born. On Nov. 1, 1883 she was married a second time to the late W. D. Hazen of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. To this union one daughter was born, (Mabel) Mrs. Martin Kopp of Highland Park, Ill.
Mr. Hazen died Jan 5, 1930, in an explosion in the Fremont blacksmith shop. Deceased leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren [source: Knotwell Family Tree].

Mrs. Anna Hazen, 80, died at St. Elizabeth hospital, Appleton, Sunday after an illness of four months. She was taken with a paralytic stroke Aug. 14, this year and never regained consciousness. Mrs. Hazen was born Dec. 14, 1855 at Mt. Vernon, OH, and was married Nov. 1, 1883 to Wm. D. Hazen, who was killed in an explosion accident Jan. 5, 1930. Mrs. Hazen lived at North Fond du Lac many years and since the death of her husband had made her home most of the time at her daughter, Mrs. John Button, Fremont. The survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Button and Mrs. M. E. Kobb of Highland Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Holly Funeral home, Waupaca, Rev. High C. Misdall in charge. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery, Waupaca [source: Knotwell Family Tree].
