Julia Effie Alley Lane was the fifth child of John Pinckney Alley (1840 – 1891) Malana A Snow (1842 – 1880) of Saline County, Arkansas.
Julia and John Calvin Lane were married on October 23, 1895 at Lonoke, Arkansas, USA. Their children John Calvin "Dick" Lane, Claude Albert Lane, Ruth Effie Lane Briscoe, Nona Mae Lane Beck, and Alva Agusta Lane were born in Arkansas. During the 1910's the family moved to San Antonio, Texas.
Her sister, Georgianna Arnetius "Neetie" Alley (1869 – 1891) was her husband's first wife.
According to Julia's death certificate she died due to cerebral hemorage and was buried at Mission Burial Park.
