CALLAHAN Charles Herman Callahan (Charlie), born September 2, 1940 the seventh child born of Herbert and Fanny Callahan, passed on Friday, November 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry. He is survived by his two children: Cynthia and Sonja; six grandchildren: Cynthia, Patricia, Paige, Sonia, Kellie and Ashley and five great grandchildren: David, Jake, Daniel, Michael, Tyler and one expected; five sisters: Patsy, Madeline, Margaret Ann, Mary Jane and Rose; two brothers: Sonny and George, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Charlie was born in Mobile, AL, raised in Chickasaw, AL. He joined the Navy, Marines and retired as a Master Sergeant in Air Force honorably. Then continued his career in Westinghouse as an Engineer Rep. Charlie was a man of Pride, Strength and Integrity. One full of wisdom and knowledge. He loved life, dancing, music and people. Always the jokester and had a green thumb, loved nature and the ocean. His motto was "Don't worry be happy." He always thought family should stick together. A story teller of memories you could only wish for, explored the world with no regret. Looking down from the Heavens smiling down on us all. He loved his family, more than they could possibly imagine! Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Pine Crest Funeral Home.
