Martha Roberts lived with her daughter Bessie Thoma Cobb and granddaughter Margene Thoma from about 1938 till she died. She would visit her other children locally from time to time but her permanent residence was at Bessie and Albert Cobb's home. She was a very loving grandma.

Justus and Martha had 11 children. They were:
William Eppie, Wesley Everett, Milas Sylvester, Pearl Lavinia, Linus Heziciah, Earlie Clearance, Jettie Mae, Ray Ransom, Roy Albert, Clyde Edwin and Bessie Marie. Two died as infants, no burial place known.

Mrs. Martha Roberts Of Cape Succumbs
Mrs. Martha J. Roberts, 85 years old, Cape Rock Drive, died at 3:30 a. m. Sunday at her home following an illness of two weeks with a heart ailment.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Brinkopf-Howell Funeral Home with Rev. S. S. Borum of Red Star Baptist Church in charge. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Arbor.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by seven sons, Ray Roberts and Clyde Roberts of Cape Girardeau: Roy Roberts of St. Louis, Earl Roberts of St. Louis and Wm. Roberts, M. S. Roberts and Linus Roberts, all of California: two daughters, Mrs. Albert Lincecum of Jack-son and Mrs. J. A. Cobb of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Roberts was born near Lutesville, Aug. 10, 1865. On Dec. 24, 1882, she was married to J. A. Roberts, who died 11 years ago. She had resided at Whitewater for 27 years before coming here 16 years ago.
