Fond du Lac Reporter, Mon. May 5, 1986, p. 20:4. Friends of Walter L. "Wally" Beau, 79, of 15 N. Marr St. may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Zacherl Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward F. Sippel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Beau died Sat. May 3, 1986, at St. Agnes Hospital of an apparent heart attack. The son of Henry S. and Margaret Brost Beau, he was born Sept. 29, 1906, at Calvary Station. After graduation from Fond du Lac High School, Mr. Beau began his musical career as a leader of the Beau Family Dance Band. The group, along with other top musicans, waas active until the early 1940s. Mr. Beau was a band leader throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states for many years and was a member of American Federation of Musicians, Local 309. In March of 1974, Local 309 cited him "to acknowledge your outstanding contribution, innovation and promotion of live music in our community." After his retirement as a musician, Mr. Beau was employed by Haentze Floral. Survivors include four brothers, Henry J. "Heinie" of Sherman Oaks CA, Willard J. of San Gabriel CA, Edward of Neshkoro and Jerome J. of Boise ID; three sisters, Mrs. Rollie (Marie) Culver of Santa Monica CA, Mrs. Marge Luby of Greendale and Mrs. Gerald (Lucile) Murphy of Neenah. One brother preceded him in death.
