On Thursday of last week, August 2nd, 1900, Frederick W. Cooling died at his home in Wilton Junction, Iowa. His home when he lived in this neighborhood was on section 34, about four miles west of Byron. He was a very genial kind-hearted man and had many friends, all of whom will hear of his death with genuine regret. A private letter speaking of his condition says: ‘He has suffered untold agony with rheumatism, which at last suddenly went to his heart and finished his sad life. He longed for death to relieve him of his suffering.’ This is the 3rd death that we have chronicled in this family within one short year. The First was our friends, Mrs. Henry Cooling who was brought here from Austin nearly one year ago, next Dr. Albert Cooling of Wilton Junction, about six months ago, and now his brother Fred. The wife, children, brother, and sister who are left to your have our sincere sympathy.
