Felecia Dawn Bates Bazile was born on November 28, 1967, to Milton and Alice Bates and was the youngest of five girls. Felecia was blessed with a gift of music. She started singing with her family at an early age, played the piano first by ear and later took lessons to expand her piano skills.
While attending Northside High School, Felecia wrote a commercial for the school and also participated in various talent shows and competitions. After high school, she earned her associate’s degree in administration from Indiana Business College.
Felecia continued to blossom in her singing and writing skills. Because of her love for the Lord, she decided she would focus her talents in gospel music. During her music career, she was the musician and praise leader for several local churches, part of one of the best praise teams in Fort Wayne, IN, and sung with a couple singing groups, one of which was the Expressions of Joy where she influenced most of the song arrangements.
Felecia was the proud mother of four sons and on May 17, 2003 she married Kelvin Bazile. In 2007, Felecia, her husband and three of her sons relocated to North Las Vegas, NV. Her oldest son joined them at a later date. Over the years while working, she continued to pursue her singing career. Her single, "All The Man," was the #2 International Indie song for 2016 on Indie Music Radio. Her single, "Come Back," was also in the top 10 during that same year and was the #1 song for several weeks.
Felecia departed this world on April 6, 2019, after succumbing to her battle with cancer. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Kelvin Bazile; beloved sons, Christopher Drake Bates, Aaron Nellems, Avery (Riondra) Nellems, and Aubrey Nellems; stepdaughters, Tamara (Matthew) Cummings, Drawshaunta (Jermaine) Shears, and Gabrele Bazile; loving sisters, Lydia Bates, Deanna Bates, and Elise Davis; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and good friends.
