Barbara Browning, age 89, Harrodsburg, widow of Lloyd Sylvester Browning Sr., died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her residence.
Born September 2, 1922 in Mackville, she was the daughter of the late Ike and Artie Fogle Young. She was a domestic worker for the late Dr. John Baughman for many years and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include: four daughters: Georgia Browning Dunn, Danville, Barbara Meaux, Judy (Kenneth) Jones and, Mary (John) Harris all of Harrodsburg; two sons: Johnny Browning and James (Stephanie) Browning both of Harrodsburg; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and special friends, Elizabeth Mudd, Mary Payne, Geneva Penman, Viola Singleton, and Betty Mae Walker all of Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Browning, Jr., a brother Ike Young, and two grandchildren, Bobby Meaux (Comair Flight 5191) and Jonathan Meaux.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Ralph Smith with burial in the East Texas - Bethlehem Cemetery in Washington Co.
Pallbearers are her grandsons: Andre Jones, Curtis Dunn, Shane Dunn, D.K. Meaux, Lloyd Browning II, Chris Browning, John Harris, Bobby Harris, Dion Jones, Jeff Guest and Tyrone Jones, Bill Baughman, Kendall Patton and James Thurman. Honorary bearers are her granddaughters: Amelia Lindsay, Rita Dunn, bonnie Dorman, Alice Dunn, Alicia Dunn, Jessica Browning, Azelia Campbell, Smantha Baker, Menisa Harris, and Sharon Alcorn.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at Sims Funeral Services.
