In 1861 Helen entered the novitiate of the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul in London. Helen was one of four out of five Vaughan daughters to enter the religious life. Helen died very young and suddenly in 1861. She is said to be the first Daughter of Charity to die in London. Helen is buried at the Daughters of Charity Provincial House in North London (Mill Hill).
