He moved to Titusville, FL, at an early age and worshiped with his family at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He accepted Christ and was baptized into the body of believers. ln the late evening of his life, he united with St. James AME Church under the witness of Rev. Dames.
He graduated from Titusville Negro School and served two consecutive tours in the United States Army during WWII. He attained the rank of Corporal, received the WWII Victory Medal and was Honorably Discharged January 12, 1947.
ln 1943, Abraham married his beloved wife, Mary Etta Singleton, a union lasting until her demise on March 23, 1999. They were the loving parents of nine children. One son, Glennie Lee Bell precedes them in death.
Abraham retired from Patrick Air Force Base as an electrician, after many years of service.
The loving memory of this devoted father will forever be cherished by his children and family, which include; Richard (Shirley) Bell, Betty (Harold) Pinkney, Alphonso (Janice) Bell, Gloria (Tommy) Brown, Dennis (Rachel) Bell, Sr., Valerie Robinson, Coretta Bell (Fred Dollard), Abraham (Tosha) Bell, III; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bessie Cohen; brothers-in-law, Bernard Singleton and Ezekiel Kendrick; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
