He attended Brevard County public schools, graduating from Andrew J. Gibson High School, Titusville, FL, on August 30, 1965. He entered the United States Army, where he served in the VietNam War.
Along with an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces, he received the VietNam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars. Republic of VietNam Campaign Medal, Parachutist Badge, National Defense Medal. Combat Infantryman Badge and Sharpshooter Rifle.
Upon returning home from faithfully serving his country, Glennie found employment with Brevard County Parks and Recreation. He was a faithful and dependable employee for 21 years. As a maintenance lead person, he received several plaques and numerous certificates from the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners for outstanding service rendered.
Glennie joined St. James AME Church and was baptized by Rev. Dennis L. Bell. He made known to his family that he had accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
On Sunday, September 10, 1995, in His infinite and never ending wisdom, God saw fit to call Glennie home to eternal rest.
Cherishing his loving memories are: a loving and devoted daughter, Tammie Shante Bell; loving son, Terrell Williams; devoted father and mother, Abraham, Jr., and Etta Bell; grandsons, Markhail Bell and Sinclair Williams; brothers, Richard Bell, Sr., (Shirley), Dennis Bell (Rachel), Alphonso Bell, (Janice), and Abraham Melvin Bell, III, (Maxine); sisters, Betty Pinkney, (Harold), Gloria Brown, (Tommy), Valerie Robinson (Michael), and Cora Etta Bell; two uncles, Bernard Singleton and David Singleton; aunt, Bessie Cohens; great uncles, J.W.
