Ann Carolyn Bennett Lowden, 70, passed away peacefully with her loved ones around her in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 23, 2003, of complications from pneumonia. She was born February 20, 1933, in Salt Lake City to Harold and Emily Bennett. Ann graduated with a master's degree in Educational Psychology from the U of U. She married David Paul Lowden on August 16, 1957, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ann was active in the LDS Church and other civic endeavors. She was a leader in the Boy Scouts organization and received the Silver Beaver Award in recognition for her service. Ann taught children with disabilities at West High and later at Newman Elementary. She taught swimming and excelled in water ballet and tennis and enjoyed other racquet sports.

She was preceded in death by her children Andrew, Jamie, Roseanna, and Melissa; parents; and sister, Susan B. Winters.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Adrienne (Michael) deJager and Arianna (Taylor) Erickson; seven grandchildren; four brothers, John, Michael (Jan), Peter (Rebecca), Stephen (Susan); and two sisters Mary Elen (Dean) Belnap and Rose Jenkins.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 12 noon, at the Salt Lake 20th Ward, 2nd Ave and G Street. Friends may visit Friday evening at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the ward, 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. We will miss her patience and kindness.
