Diodato "Teddy" Adorante, 75, of Vandergrift, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, in Natrona Heights, Harrison. Born June 1, 1930, in Guardiagrelle, Italy, he was a son of the late Donato and Ersila Adorante. He lived in Vandergrift since arriving in the United States in 1949. He was employed by Conrail Railroad Corp. as a plumber foreman with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift; active in a local bowling league; and a member of the Italian-American Club in Vandergrift. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean MacCagno Adorante, on June 8, 2005. Surviving are a son, Mario J. (Diane) Adorante, of Vandergrift; three daughters, Anita M. (Ken) Artman and Terri L. (Rich) Bryan, both of Vandergrift, and Celia J. (Bill Jr.) Adams, of DuBois; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and three sisters, Lucy Raschiatore, of Vandergrift, Maria Pantalone, of Florida, and Sarah Fallone, of New Kensington. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the time of parting prayers, in the GERALD J. MEDICE FUNERAL HOME, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Franklin Avenue, in Vandergrift, with Father Chad Ficorilli, O.S.B., as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lower Burrell.
