About 1919 she met Johan (John) Jensen, a US soldier who was in England during WWI and they married and moved to the USA. First, they lived in Illinois where their daughter was born, and then they moved to Michigan where their two sons were born. They both stayed in Michigan until their deaths. Mary's sister Elizabeth Winnifred also married a US soldier (George Woolridge) who was a friend of Mary's husband, Johan Jensen.
Mary is buried in the same cemetery as her husband and in same section but they are not buried together, as he died later and had remarried after her death.
