ROSE RIGGINS SERVICE SET

Requiem high Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty with the Rev. L.H. Reicks as celebrant for Mrs. Verne (Rose) Riggins, 81, lifelong Dougherty resident. She died Thursday evening at the home of her son at 1415 N. Virginia where she had been convalescing.

Visitation will be at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel form 4 p.m. Saturday until 12 noon Monday, and after 2 p.m. Monday until time of services at the St. Patrick's School Chapel in Dougherty. Rosaries are scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Hogan-Bremer Chapel and 8 p.m. Monday at the school chapel in Dougherty.

Pallbearers are James Barragy, Clark Dougherty, Danny Dougherty, Everett Nixt, Robert McDonough and Richard Gary.

Mrs. Riggins was born March 13, 1888, at Dougherty, the daughter of Charles and Ellen (Kennedy) Dougherty. She attended school in Dougherty and was married to Verne L. Riggins June 3, 1913 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty.

For a number of years she had worked at the St. Patrick's School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the ladies auxiliary of the church and the Rosary Society.

she is survived by two sons, Edmund, Mason City, and Ronald, Stevens Point, Wis.; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Lewis, Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Helen Lanford, Salinas, Calif., and Mrs. Francis (Rosemary) Schiller, Whittier, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Ealy and Mrs. Ralph (Lenore) Hogan, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 2, 1964; three sisters and a brother.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Dougherty.
