From The Glenwood City Tribune, Glenwood, Wisconsin, Thur., 8 Jul 1909, Pg 5, Col 3:
"Death of Mrs. D.R. LeGrant.
Last Saturday at 8:45 a.m. Mrs. D.R. LeGrant, one of Glenwood's pioneer women, after bidding her loved ones good-by and listening to the reading of a favorite chapter of scripture, passed to the bigger life. Kidney trouble with complications was the cause of her death.

Charlotte Melissa Tuttle was born in the Town of Auburn, Fond du Lac county, May 30, 1851, and on Aug. 5, 1865, was married at East Wrightstown, Wis., to Delavan R. LeGrant, who, with six children - Mrs. A.K. Moloy and Mrs. C.E. Taylor of San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Maude Resinweber, of Flandreau, S.D., and Melvin, Claude and Roy of Glenwood - survive her, and all of whom were with her during the closing weeks of her life. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrant came to Glenwood in 1885, the year the village was founded and have lived her continually since.

Mrs. LeGrant united with the Baptist church in early girlhood and her life has been that of a kindly, devoted, helpful Christian woman, wife and mother.

She was one of a large family of children of whom there survive: Edward Tuttle, of Independence, Ore., Wm. S. Tuttle, of Glenwood; T.J. Tuttle of Yuma, Colo.; Mrs. Anna Fleming of Minneapolis; Mrs. Ed Carter of Owen; Mrs Herman Gabler of Tiffany, and Mrs. Nicholas Grimes, of Clear Lake. All but Ed and T.J. Tuttle were present at the funeral, which was held on Tuesday afternoon from the M.E. church and very largely attended. Rev R.H. Reed officiated; a choir consisting of Misses Jessica Reed, Eila and Victoria Johnston, J.C. Boardman and Wm. Evans rendered several beautiful selections, and Messrs. H.M. Johnston, A.C. Harriman, S.A. Raymond, C.P. Peterson, R.A. Cleveland and Hans Peterson acted as pall bearers."
