Funeral services for Ed William Herzberg, 85, formerly of Clarinda, will be held at 10 am Tuesday at St John Lutheran Church with Rev Carl M. Lueker officiating.

Herzberg, a long-time Clarinda resident and farmer, died at a hospital in Woodland Hills, Cal early Friday morning.

The son of Herman and Dorethea Herzog Herzberg he was born Dec 26, 1890 in Page county and was married to Clara Messman Aug 13, 1913.

She survives. Herzberg and his wife had moved to California five months ago.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Erma Maxwell and Elsie Herzberg, both of Woodland Hills, Cal, and Alma Falk of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Casket bearers will be Walter Bartels, Howard Blume, Ed Buch, Oscar Haack, Lester Messman and Alfred Sump.

Mrs Walter Kirchner and Mrs Ruth Wahl will be in charge of the register and Mrs Duaine Wagoner will be in charge of the music.

The family will meet friends and relatives at Clarinda Memorial Chapel from 7:30 to 8:30 Monday evening.
