Edmonson was the youngest son of Josiah and Comfort Williams. He was born in about 1824 and died after 1881 in Kansas, where he had homesteaded. His death date and burial place are unknown. He married Barbara Crawford, and their children were: Susana Comfort, Francis Marion, Andrew, Adrina (Ada), Maurice, Barbara Ann, Sarah Jane, Paul Ira, Mary (May), and John, and then Ed's child by his second marriage was Earnest.
