HEAD, Hughes Elliott, Age 79 of Stroudsville [sic], died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his home where he was born and raised. A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church. Mr. Head was born May 7, 1932 and was preceded in death by his parents, James Clay and Lucy Elliott Head; and his wife, Ruth Hensley Head. He was a farmer, a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, and a fifty year member of Red River Masonic Lodge #537. Survivors include his sons, James Ray (Tammy P.) Head, Terry Hughes (Tammy S.) Head, Stroudsville, Keith (Brenda) Head, Nashville; daughters, Sandra (Sid) Jarreau, Joelton, Teresa (Tom) Adkins, Sheila (Mark) Tillman, Stroudsville; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Head, Marvin Hugh Harris and Grover Stroud.
