John Conroy Head, Sr., 83, Clarksville, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Clark and Rev. Regina Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the church.

A Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 6, 1925 in Robertson County and was the son of the late, James Clay Head and Lucy Elliott Head.

Mr. Head was a farmer, belonged to the Red River Masonic Lodge #537, served as County Commissioner for 12 years, Highway Commissioner for 28 years, a Farm Bureau Director as well as President.

He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for 75 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hunt Head, Clarksville; son, Johnny (Anne) Head, Clarksville; brother, Hughes Elliott Head, Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Jason Head and Susan Head. Pallbearers will be Jason Head, Jamie Head, Terry Head, Keith Head, Charles Head, Kenneth Head, Mark Tillman and Doug Hitchon.
