Mrs. Lillian Rose Stratton, of Meadow Valley, passed away Monday morning in an Orville hospital at the age of 71.

Mrs. Stratton was a native of Chico, Butte County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Moore, who crossed the plains in 1852. She received her education in the Chico schools, graduating fromChico Normal, noe known as Chico State College in 1913. She taught school for several years in Fort Bragg, Stuart's Point and Meadow Valley, and it was at the latter place that she met and married Henry Stratton in 19017; he and their three children survive her.

She leaves her husband; their daiughters, Mrs. Ruth Michelson of Sacramento and Mrs. Elizabeth Kurwitz of Fort Bragg; one son, Henry Jr. of Meadow Valley; sisters, Mrs. Belle Rice and Mrs. Margaret Hales of Chico; and a brother, John S. Moore of Sacramento; and also five grandchildren.

Christian Science services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Chico Funeral Home and the body will be placed in the family crypt in Chico Memorial Mausoleum.
