Chico Record (Chico, California) 24 Jul 1929, Wednesday Page 1: Chico Couple Will Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Moore, 1640 Hemlock Street, will observe their golden wedding anniversary today.
Fifty years ago, on July 24, 1879, the couple were married at Oroville by the Rev. Jesse Woods. Only one other person who attended the ceremony, Mrs. Amelia Moore Gabriel, 1701 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Oakland, is still living.
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Bales of Colusa, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stratton of Gridley and John S. Moore of Sacramento will arrive this morning in Chico, where with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rice and Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Moore Jr., they will observe the anniversary of their parents.
Four generations on the maternal side will be present at the picnic luncheon to be held at 6 o'clock this evening. There are 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild to the bridge and groom of 50 years ago. Friends have been invited to call before 5 o'clock in the evening.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Moore are pioneers of the Chico section, Mrs. Moore coming to this district tin 1887 and her husband 10 years previously.

Chico Record (Chico, California) 03 Sep 1930, Wednesday Page 3: Laura B. Moore, Butte Resident 69 Years, Dies. Mrs. Laura Belle Moore, 71, a resident of Butte County for 69 years, died Sunday evening at her home, 1640 Hemlock Street.
A native of Illinois, Mrs. Moore came to California as a child. Her parents settled at Oroville, where on June 24, 1879, she became the wife of T. Jefferson Moore.
Surviving are the widower and the following children: Mrs. Mary Belle Rice of Chico, Mrs. Lillian Rose Stratton of Gridley, Thomas Jefferson Moore Jr. of Ben Lomond, Mrs. Laura Margaret Bales of Colusa, John S. Moore of Sacramento. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Della Sanborn of Chico, Mrs. Alice McDowell of Chico and Charles Hartman of Chico. Also 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at Westfall Funeral Home this morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. George T. Meeker officiating. Burial will be in Chico Cemetery.
