Madge W. Poteet, 89, a resident of Ocoee, passed way Saturday, December 14, 2002 in a local health care facility. She had lived most of her life in Polk County and was the oldest living member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church.
She was a loving caregiver for many children and adults during her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Bell Franklin and John Watson; two sisters, Arizona Baker and Vassie Poteet; six brothers, Amon Watson, Jim Watson, Bill Watson, Virgil Watson and Rufus Watson.
She is survived by Robyn Butters Elliott and four generations of other nieces and nephews. The service was conducted at the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Rymer officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Coots, Shawn Elliott, Steve Jordan, Claudie Poteet, Junior Swaggerty and Jeff Watson.
