Mrs. Frances Jane Corbett Anderson Chaney, age 46, passed away on June 17, 1981 at Coffee Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with a respiratory illness. She was born on March 12, 1935 to Francis and Lillie Mae Haskins Corbett.

Jane is survived by her husband, Robert M. "Bob" Chaney; 2 sons, Rudolf "Tripp" Anderson,III and James Barksdale "Jim" Anderson; 2 daughters, Robyn Anderson and Lydia Chaney; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Corbett; 2 sisters, Donna Grantham and Nan Jo Dube.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 18, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with the interment in the Sweetwater Cemetery in Atkinson County.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

NOTE:
Jane's first husband, Major Rudolf Anderson, Jr, was a U2 pilot who took the aerial photos of the missles in Cuba during the 1962 Cuban Missle Crisis. He was the only casualty. He was killed when his plane was shot down and he was given credit for saving a WWIII. Google him for more information. They had 2 young sons and she was pregnant with their daughter at the time of his death.
