Frances "Fannie" Cluke was born to John and Nancy Cluke in Virginia. He was a private in the Virginia army during the Revolutionary War. The family moved to Montgomery County, Kentucky, soon after statehood. She married Samuel Luttrell Williams in about 1811, and bore him at least seven children, before dying in 1855. She was an active member of Somerset Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on Somerset Lane off the Maysville Pike.
