Luther Miller, who recently closed his hotel at Creelsboro and moved to this city, will sell his hotel furniture to the highest bidder at Creelsboro, on Saturday, Oct 17 at 10 a.m. If you need household furniture, this is an opportunity to buy at your own price.

Mr. Luther Miller, formerly of Creelsboro, but who has resided with a daughter in Jamestown for the last several years passed away at the age of 88 years there last Monday March 27 at 9:00 p.m.

For many years Mr. Miller was a leading citizen of Creelsboro and operated a store and farm in that vicinity. When he retired he came to Jamestown and made his home with his children. He was staying at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Norma Antle, when he died last Monday.

He is survived by seven children, five sons, Willie, Ernest, Robert, Sam and Ray Miller and two daughters, Norma Antle and Mrs. Laura Sullivan of Jamestown. His wife and son, Preston, died several years ago.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Baptist Church but attended the Christian Church as the Baptist didn't have a church in Creelsboro.

His funeral was held in the Jamestown Christian Church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Services were conducted by Reverends Bryan Maxey and H.B. Popplewell.

Interment was in the Jamestown Cemetery.
